Close of play

By Brian Halford on Apr 15, 09 05:45 PM

Bad light stopped play and conditions waited until play had been called off for the day before instantly improving.

Warwickshire 189 for 3 (54.2 overs). Bell 84, Troughton 58.

Some delightful Bears supporters in conversation at the Old Pavilion End.

"I remember once seeing Warwickshire at Wells," said one. "1950, I think it was."

County cricket must never die.

Do you think Brian, that there's anyone amongst our beloved cricket administrators who cares whether or not County Cricket lives or dies?

They seemed to take an age to tell us the game was off for the day.
