Hooting

By Brian Halford on Apr 17, 09 09:54 AM

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. It's cloudy, although with no apparent imminent threat of rain. There might be a bit of help for the bowlers if it stays like this.

With Warwickshire needing to take 20 wickets, some early ones are vital today.

There's a lot of hooting going on in Taunton this morning. Some angst-ridden motorists out there.

Come on the cars!

Brian - is there any truth when we saw you on the phone on Wednesday you were trying to place a bet on Warwickshire not to score 500 again this summer? I don't think any of us should get carried away that our batting has improved that much. Bell & Ambrose are great to have back for sure.

Taunton Report -
Stewards - Were very friendly and nice when we came down.
Autographs - Both team very nice and welcoming. Belly must now have the worse autograph in professional sport.
Refreshments - How many options - Mr Povey take note.
Birds - Plenty of gulls but no warblers

Morning Beatie80. I agree about the batting. Others played good supporting roles but had Bell not played brilliantly to lift them away from a parlous 66 for 3 it could have all been very different.

Morning Brian,

This shotgun thing, I don't think that's quite what the environmentalists had in mind.

Let's hope the cloud lingers a bit and we can profit from the conditions.

Morning Bozza. I fear that Trescothick will score no less than 162.

bozza bear said:

Not at all Brian. I confidently expect Trescothick to be out handled the ball for 41, whereupon there will be a collapse of gargantuan proportions with Somerset all out by lunchtime, wickets to Woakes and Trott.
Alternatively, it being the bears, the sun will come out and Suppiah and Trecothick will still be batting at stumps.

Keep up to date
