David gives up

By Brian Halford on Apr 7, 09 01:18 PM

Lunch: Oxford UCCE 135 for 5 (47 overs). Watson 40, Young 25.

Pretty flat fare, really, with the bowlers bowling in pre-arranged shifts to chip off some rust. Miller was a bit unlucky, having a catch dropped, a good lbw shout turned down and forcing several edges which went for runs.

"I give up," Bears scorer David Wainwright has just revealed. A statement not, it should be said, borne from despair and admission of defeat in some great existential battle but uttered simply in terms of having failed to get the scorers' printer, which has been troublesome all game, to do any printing.

Thanks for the info throughout this game Brian. This is the only place where it seems we can get updates.

Cheers, DD. I fear the "contest" is going to die a slow death this afternoon.
Jane - David is, indeed, the coolest dude I know. And the most determined. He WILL get that printer working.
But first, his dinner.

It sounds like the printer is more exciting than the cricket. How long before the printer is given out - the window - as is stumps David?!!

Any Warblers in Oxford ? Has the first one of the season been spotted.

No warblers, sadly. With this ground allegedly surrounded by 100 species of tree, you'd think there'd be a few around.

I suspect, Bear Lady, that David's got something up his sleeve. Nothing ever beats D.Wainwright, certainly not a mere printer.

Keep up to date
