Botha, Altree, Giles, Ray and Roy

By Brian Halford on Apr 14, 09 03:50 PM

Ant Botha is struggling with his elbow injury and, although he is travelling to Taunton, is highly unlikely to play there.

So the Bears will go in without a specialist spinner which is possibly not as big a blow as it might be as, with cloud forecast to be around all week, conditions could be seam and swing-friendly.

Last time Warwickshire won a championship game at Taunton, in 1996, Darren Altree made his first-class debut, Andrew Caddick took ten wickets in the match, the ball swung around like billio on the Thursday and Ashley Giles spun his team to a 99-run victory on the final afternoon.

And the umpires officiated under the christian names 'Ray' and 'Roy'.
