Under the Headingley lights...

By Brian Halford on Sep 8, 08 02:08 PM

Memories of 2001. Yorkshire, 234 for 6, beat Warwickshire, 59 all out in 15.2 overs, by 175 runs.

Yorkshire's total lifted to round about par by a quickfire 40 from some fellow called Fellows.
Sheikh bowling very well (9-0-28-0) but Giles taking stick (9-0-66-2).
Carter and Wagh out to Silverwood in the first over of the Bears' reply.
Silverwood and Kirby reducing Warwickshire to 12 for 6.
Penney and Piper organising a "recovery" to 45 for 6 thanks largely to runs thrashed off free-hits from Kirby no-balls.
Game over before the floodllights are switched on.
Warwickshire's players kept in the dressing-room for more than an hour post-match for a rollicking by Bob Woolmer.
Most untypically, Woolmer being terse with the press. He was livid with the team.
Yorkshire's supporters rather enjoying it all.
