Woakes goes
Warwickshire 315 for 4 (100 overs). Frost 131, Troughton 4.
Woakes got a good one from Wright and edged to the wicket-keeper for a valuable 22. Troughton, not for the first time in his enigmatic career, cover-drove his first ball to the boundary in glorious fashion.
When the Australian team toured England for the Ashes in 1899 they played cricket on 95 out of 96 weekdays between May 18 and September 6. And the cricketers of today complain of "burnout"!
It was interesting to hear Pietersen's complaints of fatigue abruptly cease in the light of Stanford's £1million tackfest.
