Tuberculosis figures in Burnley

By Brian Halford on Sep 18, 08 04:27 PM

Warwickshire 244 for 2 (77 overs). Frost 109, Trott 72.

"It's up to Essex to dictate proceedings," a press-box expert has just opined, quite rightly, and, at the moment, they lack the incision or ideas to do that. The batsmen are in total control.

Perhaps it's because this summer has been so wet and gloomy but Chelmsford cricket ground seems to be looking particularly attractive in the sofe evening sunlight. It is not the most handsome of grounds but attractive in a humble, jumbiflic sort of way with its tiny stands, attractive trees at the Hayes Close End, immaculate outfield strung with long shadows from weary fielders and its healthy number of spectators gazing out over grass which has been graced by so many greats over the years. Kortwright. Perrin. Gooch. Pringle.

It will be redeveloped in 2010. New Road will soon be radically changed too. Hope the projects are sensitively handled.

Keep up to date
