The weather in Leeds

By Brian Halford on Sep 9, 08 09:59 AM

It is raining heavily in Taunton, in Warwick and in Leeds but, bearing in mind Yorkshire's need for points towards their promotion push, it being Darren Gough's last game at Headingley and the presence of the SKY cameras, every effort is sure to be made to expedite the playing of some cricket tonight even if it's a one-ball-a-side contest starting at 10.44pm.

In 1948, the lunch interval was extended to 45 minutes.

Good for you for having a go at some of the unitigated c**p written about Ambrose by fellow journo's, Brian.

I can't see that there will be any play today in Leeds. I live near the ground and the weather is foul.

"The award of an England central contract to Michael Vaughan reflects the selectors' view that Michael still has a role to play in the England Test squad over the next 12 months," said the national selector, Geoff Miller.
Oh dear.

Thanks Kim. There were some cheap shots weren't there and a bit of vindictiveness. I like to think my journalism has been many things - banal, fatuous, predictable, tautologous, error-strewn, cliched, irrelevant, dull and even, as one reader memorably described it this summer, "space-filling drivel" - but never vindictive!
