Salisbury unpicks 'em
Essex 316 all out. Warwickshire require 144 to win from 45 overs.
Salisbury bagged his fifth haul of five-or-more wickets this season - and finished with six for 100 - as Warwickshire galloped to within sight of a victory that would clinch promotion and leave them requiring just four points from the Glamorgan game next week to seal the Second Division title.
His five-for arrived courtesy of a sharp low return catch to dismiss Masters. Victim number six was Palladino, taken at slip by Clarke. Essex fell in a heap, at one stage losing five wickets for 23 runs in six overs. Most sieve-headedly they sustained two self-imposed wounds in the form of run outs. Pettini perished by miles after a complete mix-up with Middlebrook who was also at the other end when Wright was run out by a brilliant direct hit at one stump by Troughton.
Warwickshire are one small, simple run chase from promotion.
