Essex 28 for 1 (10 overs). Gallian 20, Bopara 0.

Martin digs one in and Maunders, on 7, gets far too close to a pull and ladles it high to Poonia at square-leg.

Both opening bowlers are bowling well. Still thick cloud.

Wonder why Rikki Clarke's shirt number is 81.
