Dull and damp
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. It is chilly, dull and damp at New Road but both sides are out on the grass warming up so it must be playable. A prompt start, we assume.
When Warwickshire visited Worcestershire at Dudley in 1948, Martin Donnelly, not out on Saturday night, turned up at the ground ten minutes after the start time on Monday morning and had to ask the Worcestershire captain for permission to resume his innings at the fall of the next wicket.
Rather sloppy, some would say.
