Bears on the brink of promotion
Close: Warwickshire 277 for 3 (91 overs). Frost 121, Woakes 7.
Frost remains unbeaten after 338 minutes of good old-fashioned, Staffordshire grit of the sort that Alan Richardson once famously displayed in his memorable 91 in alliance with Nick Knight who, incidentally, is here today as dapper and civilised as ever (he now lives in Bury St Edmunds).
Warwickshire are on the brink of promotion after one of the best day's cricket of the season.

Well done Warwickshire. They are to be warmly congratulated bearing in mind where they were and what they were this time last year.
I agree Brian, great day. Lovely weather nice company and some very steady batting by our groundsman/wicket keeper/ batsman Tony Frost.
Another solid day on Friday and we will be near the promised land of Division 1.
Brian - How about some alternative end of season awards ?
Most dropped catches ?
Worst fielding ?
Longest word used by Brian or George that no one understands ?
Beatie80, I think Essex would scoop the fielding/catches award. Already this morning a sitter has gone down.
