A surprise

By Brian Halford on Sep 24, 08 12:21 PM

Warwickshire 73 for 3 (26 overs). Trott 33, Troughton 5.

It is always a surprise when Frost gets out this season and even more so when he does so to a leaky shot. After reaching 23 from 69 balls he attempted to steer his 70th, from Gillespie, to leg but diverted it instead on to his middle stump.

Trott looking solid as ever though. Now can Troughton bat for a long time?

Brian - did Trott look tired after his admirable efforts, hence the loose shot?

I assume he won't be thanking Poonia for another failure and leaving him to come in early (again).

Hi Exile - I assume you mean Frost? No, he didn't look tired. We all thought he was booked in for bed and breakfast again!
Yes, one wonders how many more chances Poonia can expect. The Bears are, at this stage, favouring the thought of giving him another year and you could argue he'd be pretty fortunate to get that.

Thanks Brian. Yes, I did mean Frost. I lack his powers of concentration when typing. I don't really see what Poonia has done to justify another year, especially against Division 1 bowlers.

Do you think there's much chance of getting the necessary bonus points in this innings?

All out 262, I'd say.
