Maddy brought himself on for ninth over and to his fifth ball Bopara, who has started fluently, essayed a big drive but edged into the slips where Trott dropped a straightforward chance. Bopara had 21 at the time.

Maddy and Rankin have replaced Martin and Woakes in the bowling attack. Salisbury could hold the key here though.
