Udder clamp

By Brian Halford on May 18, 08 04:06 PM

Nottinghamshire 28 for 1 (6 overs). Jefferson 21, Wagh 7.

Jefferson, who has hardly been able to buy a run for most of this season, has unveiled a luscious drive or two. Woakes has sent a couple of excellent balls past the bat. It's a big ask for him to open the bowling but he's testing the batsmen early on.

Warwickshire have to take keeping wickets, very regularly, to win this game.

THE export of store cattle from Wales to the rich pasturelands of England has always played a vital part in the Welsh economy. Recent research has indicated the existence of a flourishing cattle trade since the mid-thirteenth century, and there seems little reason to doubt that the origins of the trade go back far into antiquity.

What are the chances of Allan Donald coming out of retirement? Perhaps he could come out on to field and talk the youngsters through.

I know dissent isnt allowed at Warwickshire any more but even John Claughton would find it hard to see much progess at the moment.

Ah but you see, Kim, the progress is underlying. And my god it's lying deep at the moment.

Hi Kim. One of the chaps in the press-box asked earlier on how long it will take to turn Warwickshire round (properly, that is, not just in this match).
Neither George nor I were able to say, with confidence: "Oh, not long."
