Turning out to be a bit of a tough morning...

By Brian Halford on May 21, 08 12:32 PM

Sanath Jayasuriya has reversed his decision to retire from international cricket and been named in Sri Lanka's squad for the Asia Cup in Pakistan during the Twenty20 period over here. He will therefore be unable to honour his contract with Warwickshire.

"The news has come out of the blue and is disappointing," said Ashley Giles. "We will now look to see who might be a suitable replacement for this exciting competition."

Zondeki crocked, Jayasuriya changed his mind. Not a great morning for the Bears!

Middlesex 69 for 1 (25 overs). Smith 37, Shah 17.

Hope there's been no booing there yet.

No doubt Mr Povey will soon be appearing Gordon Brown style to tell us we've never had it so good.

The news has come out of the blue? Maybe - but could it have anything to do with Jayasuriya doing a bit of homework about what he would be coming into?
