The Declaration
Warwickshire 433 for 8 declared. Ambrose 156, Zondeki 1.
Carter perished to a catch at short fine leg for 85 (92 balls, 7 fours, 4 sixes). Ambrose 156 not out from 231 balls with 20 fours, a high-class effort.
Leicestershire need 284 to avoid the follow-on. Early wickets would put them under real pressure and, with the weather apparently set fair, there might be a bit of cricket left in this game yet.
It was the Bears' highest eighth-wicket stand v Leicestershire, supplanting Quaife and Whittle (1902) from the record books.
