"Stop fidgeting or I'll take that hamster away".

By Brian Halford on May 23, 08 01:05 PM

Lunch: Warwickshire 361 for 5 (115 overs). Frost 84, Salisbury 26.

Through all the slings and arrows, Warwickshire have advanced solidly. Frost, 84 from 221 balls, has found another obdurate partner in Salisbury and they have added 32 so far against an attack which has proved culpably incapable of twisting the knife on Warwickshire's misfortunes.

89 for 1 in the session, including 24 extras.

Brian - any idea whether Troughton not bowling in the first innings was a tactical or an injury precaution decision?

I am just wondering who is going to fill in overs with the three man attack. Obviously Trott will bowl a bit/lot. Westwood may have to unveil some occasional spin. Do you know the last time Powell bowled?

Raggy - don't think Troughton not bowling was fitness-related. They have two specialist spinners, of course.
Powell hasn't bowled this season so is fresh as a daisy. I'd give him the new ball.

Raggybear said:

Maybe give him the new ball and get him to run out through the Stanley Barnes gates and into Cannon Hill park with it and hope that's enough to get a draw!?

How is the weather looking? It started to spit with rain during the lunch break so I came home; its now raining lightly, but steadily here in Moseley.

I assume there would be no plans to declare from Cpt. Westwood, whatever lead we manage to continue hauling ourselves to.

Does Frost look like he had an appointment with the physio over lunch?

...seems I did a bit of jinxing, there

Bearing in mind Tahir, Troughton and Frost's injury history, wha price Warickshire finihsing this game with 5 fit players?

Like your thinking Raggybear.

But Brian, did he stop fidgeting or has the hamster therefore been removed?

Maurice the Muntjack said:

He should never have been given the hamster if he constantly fidgets.

Gerry the Pacemaker said:

Perhaps the hamster had fleas? Hence the fidgeting.
