Seventeen threes

By Brian Halford on May 7, 08 06:30 PM

Close of play. Warwickshire 14 for 0 (six overs). Maddy 5, Westwood 7. Negotiated a tricky spell with no alarms.

Strangely, due mainly to a slow outfield, Derbyshire's innings contained 17 threes.

Could it be that, like under Inverarity, the Bears under Giles will be good at four-day cricket and crap in the shorter game?

Yes the groundsmen must be a bit lazy at Derby leaving the outfield so long. The wicket seemed to get easier as the day progressed, although I thought our bowlers got tired and we were short of another seamer. Daggett should have played.

Fair point, Paul. But I think the spinners might be useful second time round.
