Out among the swedes

Warwickshire 94 for 1 (28 overs). Powell 22, Trott 6.

Powell took three fours off a Nannes over and the Bears were ticking along nicely until Maddy was struck on the thumb by a rising ball from Murtagh. Clearly in discomfort, the captain was on his way off the field even before the physio had reached him. Retired hurt, 39.

Zondeki will be on his way back to South Africa very soon. It appears that he has bowled his last ball for the Bears, in which case he departs with first-class figures for the county of 96.2-17-381-9.

Oh no not Maddy. I know Warwickshire make some bad decisions but they do seem a bit unlucky too. Like with Martin Love.

Any thoughts of a new overseas signing ? Surely we must act quickly and the same player could pay in the Championship and twenty20.

I honestly don't know what we need most. Top of the order looks very week at the moment but also think we are going to stuggle to bowl teams out twice.

Zondeki was to green given our view on KOLPACKS.

Is Zondeki's departure confirmed then?

I saw the Post's money was on Chris Martin as a replacement, which would be rather nice.

Ooer, Powell's out. A bit of a collapse here if Maddy can't come back later on - which, if they've sent him to hospital, seems unlikely.

Frenchies are preventing revision today - strike outside my window is a little inconsiderate.

Beatie80 - I wonder if they might try and get a really high-profile signing for the Twenty20. A WG Grace-type figure.

Emma - yes we believe Zondeki will be on his way soon. Martin is indeed favourite to come in so expect him to strain a hamstring/break an ankle/fall under a bus in the next day or two.
