Exit stage left (clutching a goat)

By Brian Halford on May 8, 08 06:21 PM

Close. Derbyshire 3 for 0 (2 overs). Stubbings 2, Rogers 0.

Warwickshire 310 all out so had to be content with a first-innings lead of 40 in the end, a bit disappointing after they were 238 for 3. Ambrose going in down the order due to a ricked neck was significant because he ran out of partners at 34 not out when Anyon edged Lungley to the wicket-keeper to perish for six and exit stage left (clutching a goat).

Five members of the Bears' lower order mustered nine runs between them. Another patchy team effort - but all to play for.

Two goats, surely.

All to play for but we've thrown away the the advantage, and with us having to bat last on a wicket with more and more variable bounce, I make Derby favourites now.
