Worcestershire make steady progress
Worcestershire 189 for 2 (52 overs). Solanki 94, Kabir 19.
Steady progress for Worcestershire against Carter and Daggett. Solanki has just struck three gorgeous fours through the off-side off successive balls from Carter.
Nightwatchman Kabir has been little troubled, although he was dropped on 11 by Powell at mid-off at Carter.
After eight balls this morning there was a cry from the cheap seats of: "Nothing changes - same old garbage." Bit premature but Worcestershire are certainly building a very strong position.

Anyone see Batch on the beach on SKY last night? Maybe we got rid of him too early.
Once again, having attended some sessions over the last 2 days, the team did look weak at the key moments and things drifted away badly from a very strong position early afternoon on the first day. Sadly, I couldn't see too many match winners on the pitch. Those who could go for the jugular when the prey was on the floor.
However I will agree that it is only the third day, and for that reason we need to keep calm - and hope we can get into Saturday, when the forecast rain will come.
This match is now a test of fight and spirit.
I suppose at the end of the day we have opened a 'baseline' tin of baked beans, and the contents have been as tasty as can be expected.....
I think we have to give them some time, but it is easier to say than to watch. Giles and the coaching team need to learn some things about the individual players and the unfortunate truth is they are going to have to learn in the public eye. The bowling line-up for this game was probably not as bold as it might have been. Some players are missing through injury, but picking players with a bit of all round ability has backfired so far, in that they haven't done much with the bat and haven't looked nearly penetrative enough with the ball. I think the acid test would be whether any of the Warwickshire bowlers in the team would get into the Worcestershire side, and I think they would all be struggling and not just based on this game.
I saw Batch. Eating well isnt he?

Funny how things change. We gave them a thrashing early last year abd they looked a desperately weak side with little hope.
Now they look star studded compared to us.
Kim, sorry to see your acquaintance get lopped off The Apprentice, by the way. Seemed like a decent sort of chap.
It was his fanzine interview with Redknapp that got Harry fired. Yes a decent bloke - but the Sundays will have some stories, I reckon.
He known to all as "the Skerrit".
A media career beckons.
