They could have done with a Frank Field-type exponent of the bowling art
Close: Worcestershire 150 for 2 (42 overs). Solanki 75, Kabir 0.
Moore went three overs before stumps, nicking an attempt to cut Botha, but Solanki has been untroubled and you wouldn't back against Hick scoring at least 64, weather permitting, tomorrow.

So Gilo didn't read the Sunday Times?
Why do our players all fall apart and get injured?
Like an Oil tanker - it is difficult to stop the problems of 2005, 2006 and 2007........ So I am not surprised. At least there have been a few good moments so far .... amoungst the all too obvious short fallings. Indeed Wheelie Bin - why so many injuries?
Factualy, having attended some sessions over the last 2 days, the team did look weak at the key moments and things drifted away badly from a very strong position early afternoon on the first day. Sadly, I couldn't see too many match winners on the pitch. Those who could go for the jugular when the prey was on the floor.
However I will agree that it is only the third day, and for that reason we need to keep calm - and hope we can get into Saturday, when the forecast rain will come.
This match is now a test of fight and spirit.
I was very pleased to see Poonia get his 50. Well done !
I suppose at the end of the day we have opened a 'baseline' tin of baked beans, and the contents have been as tasty as can be expected.....
Come on U Bears.
