The new vice-captain strikes a half-century

By Brian Halford on Apr 1, 08 02:22 PM

Warwickshire 190 for 3 (33 overs). Trott 29, Troughton 1.
Westwood moved sweetly to 55 then tried to sock Chris Whelan over long off but holed out to Hick in that position. Trott is nurdling the ball around nicely. All very gentle stuff.

Warwickshire 193 for 3 (33 overs). Trott 30, Troughton 1.

Westwood moved sweetly to 55 before lifting Chris Whelan to Graeme Hick at long-off. Trott is nurdling the ball around nicely. It's gentle stuff from the bowlers but it won't do the batters any harm to feel the ball on the middle of the bat.

Why do you feel the need to refer to batsmen as batters? They have been called batsmen for as long as the game has existed and suddenly there seems to be a horrible tendency to call them batters.

Nice to that since you attended the Hampton Road Theatre of Dreams, Racing Club have not been beaten for five matches. Pity you left it so late as you could have sparked a title challenge.

P.S Bet you are heartbroken at Walsall's recent run.

Mr Howes - what do you call people who make hats? They're hatters, not hatsmen.

I've just got a sneaky feeling that this is the start of a surge that could take Racing Club all the way to the Conference. I foresee the day when they take on the likes of Aldershot and Wrexham at Hampton Road and and crowds swell to bumper proportions (90 to 100).
