Well I put the kybosh on Carter. The next ball he faced he was done by a slower ball from Klusener and scuffed it to extra cover to perish for 47.
Zondeki's first ball faced for Warwickshire was a textbook forward defensive stroke.
198 for 8 (71 overs). Salisbury 22, Zondeki 0.
Another 38 to reach the follow-on figure, though it's doubrful Northants would enforce.

Avoiding the follow-on would put down an important psycological marker though, whether or not they are asked to actually follow-on.
Gutted about Rankin; I think George Dobell said in one of his piece about the definition of "fitness", if this is the "fittest Warwickshire side ever".

Brian, Greetings from Hove where I am glad to see the Bears are adapting well to life in division two. Several seagulls have landed on the box this morning, coincidentally when I read your blog. But they appear a lot more content than those who used to perch petrified on the roof of the main stand at Gayfield in the 1970s when the Pars' defenders were hoofing the ball out of the ground instead of the general direction of the Arbroath goal.
