Hi Brian. I think I saw two or three people with ice-creams. I certainly wasn't tempted myself.

It was a pleasing display by Warwickshire. All of the top 5 contributed with the bat. It was good to see Daggett get off to such a fine start, in what is a very important season for him. I just hope he can keep fit because I still believe he can be a decent bowler for us. Woakes looks to have grown a bit and did well also, and the fielding was good.

My first sight of Rankin. He's an absolute giant. I look forward to seeing him bowl.

I agree Paul it was a pleasing display all round. It was good to see a lot of Bears fans in the crowd. Congratulations to Worcester for opening the bar and serving meals, sanwiches and hot and cold drinks. Apart from the wind a good time was had by all.

Paul - are you sure it wasn't the same ice-cream being passed around?

Can't agree with you there Green Stripy. Can't see us bowling sides out.
Also, need to start well or confidence could collapse real quick after last season. Decent start, on the other hand, and we could finish top two but when are we going to get a decent spinner? Are we ever going to get another one through our much-vaunted academy?

Kim said:

My fear is the batting once Bell and Ambrose have gone. Looks weak - and shallow to me and very vulnerable if we get any injuries at all.
Isnt Choudry, who looks as if hes just got a contract, a young spinner?

Trotty will have a monster season. Two double-hundreds and six hundreds. And England, having selected him last season when he was rubbish, will not pick him so Bears will have him all year.

Paul said:

Its quite possible Brian. Yes Kim we are short on batting depth but we both thought the same at the beginning of last season and look what happened - oh we got relegated. I would expect Westwood to come on a bit this season.

I'm expecting big things of Vaughn Van Jaarsveld this season.
