Heavy

By Brian Halford on Apr 29, 08 12:14 PM

Heavy rain has stopped play.

Warwickshire 42 for 1 (17.1 overs). Westwood 16, Bell 25.

Solid work by the two batsmen. Leicestershire would have hoped for two or three wickets at least with a moving ball.

By the way, re. the question last week: "Who are the two county cricketers whose name is a cathedral city?" (Salisbury and Cork), an esteemed Radio WM reporter has come up with a third one. A very good effort.

The first person to name this third gentleman will win a unique and prestigious prize - a Walsall v Bournemouth match programme (April 19, 2008), signed by my mother.

Can't remember the rules for this game. Would Mark Nelson of Northants count (has played one FC game for them) as Nelson in NZ has a Cathedral?

Nelson? Oh no, there's another one!
Good effort Raggybear - sadly it is this other one (not far from Nelson, actually) for which the illustrous prize will be awarded.

Must be Hamilton then?

Rory HAMILTON-Brown? Reaching a bit....

Ah, I think I've got it, but only with the aide of Wikipedia (as well as playfair), so I think if I am right the prize should go to a more worthy cause; is it Graham Napier of Essex.

Droitwich Bear said:

thinking of Gavin hamilton, Raggy - assuming he's over the yips

Napier it is. Congratulations, Raggybear. And generous though it is of you to defer from accepting the prestigious prize, it is yours. Hard lines!

My wife is always saying my love of cricket trivia will get me into trouble...

I'm like Marty McFly in Back to the Future, except instead of people calling me 'chicken' its random cricket trivia games that I can't resist and which will end in tears.

Keep up to date
