Four churches

By Brian Halford on Apr 23, 08 04:31 PM

Northampton tends to be a much-maligned ground but we in the press box think it has plenty more charm than is generally acknowledged.

For example, there are four handsome churches visible from the ground. Is there another cricket ground in England, nay the world, where that is the case?

144 for 5. Klusener 21, Boje 2. Mondeki and Carter bowling. Salisbury at gully, easing into his Bears career with a spot of fielding.

A plate of prawn sandwiches has been brought in.

4 handsome churches and one rather plain one, I reckon. Northampton formerly composed the parishes of All Saints, St Giles, St Peter and St Sepulchre each having a church, the parish of the priory of St Andrew being divided among four ecclesiatical parishes. But then everyone knows that.

English county cricket at its best.

Any sign of us discreetly tapping up David Sales?

Rob S. said:

Warwickshire won't try to tap up Sales. He was born in England.
