Advantage Worcestershire
Close of play: Warwickshire 39 for 3 (13 overs). Daggett 2, Trott 0.
Powell, on 29, failed to get his bat out of the way of a Magoffin inswinger and the ball glanced his blade on the way to the stumps.
A highly entertaining, if parky, day ends with Worcestershire marginally on top.
The attendance figure today, we are informed, was 1,300.

Thats a poor turnout for 1st day of the season even though it was bitterly cold at times.Watch out in the resturant If you buy jacket spud with salad as I found to my cost, I had one tomato 4 cubes cucumber lettuce and chopped beetroot each counted as separate topping at 60p each. The most expensive tomato I have ever bought.
Hey Brian, if we had been in the same division, do you think Gilo would have brought himself out of retirement for Surrey so he could bowl over the wicket, three foot down the leg side, to Mr Happy Feet Ramprakash?
I suppose that may be the first visible sign of the fall out oi a double relegation ..... although the weather in the morning was iffy to say the least. Given the weather in the morning though, I will be kind and suspect that the numbers are probably ball park for what started as a cold damp April morning.
Wheelie - Ramprakash is lucky not to be facing the Bears this season. I just had the feeling he would fail against them in 2008, thereby bringing his batting average against them down below 150!
Is 1300 bad for a first day. I'm sure it's several times higher than previous first days.
I suppose it's low for a Bears-Pears clash.
