GOD KILLERS, the novel written by comic book artist/writer Liam Sharp is attracting international attention.
Sharp, the artist on the best-selling Gears of War, published by WildStorm Comics recently revealed that a number of publishers across Europe have been expressing an interest in publishing foreign language editions of his fictional work.
God Killers is now in its second UK printing and still selling well, having received positive reviews from publications like SFX Magazine and from authors such as China Miéville.
Described by the author as "a graphic anti-war fable dressed up as a heroic fantasy," the book is available in all good UK bookshops and via Amazon.

GERMAN WRITER Josef Rother has written and translated comic books for his native country and has his work appear abroad, often in Heavy Metal Magazine, and one of those strips is being turned into a movie.
Jordan Paley, a student at Tom Savini's Digital Film Programme is currently shooting a werewolf biker movie based on A Nightmare on the Town that appeared back in the September 2003 issue of Heavy Metal.
To the left is a page from the original comic strip and Josef commented, "The artwork is by the amazing Klaus Scherwinski who is currently drawing Transformers and GI Joe stories at IDW."
Below is a Youtube trailer for the movie:

THE CHICAGO Comic-Con took place on August 11th 2009 and here are some pictures taken at the show.
There's an awful lot of dressing up to look like your favourite comic book characters that goes on at comic book conventions; not so much of it here in Europe to be sure, but it does happen. It's done with love and affection for the characters even when the results can be quite ludicrous!
Canadian comic book writer Andrew Joseph was at the show and saw the funny side of it, as he explains with some quotes to accompany his photos.
First Row: (1) Phoenix, Centre, (2) Marvel Girl, fanboy, Wolverine, (3), Harlequin and The Joker, (4) Black Canary and fanboy, (5) Another Phoenix, (6) Dr Strange, and as Andrew commented: "Sorcerer supreme, Steve Ditko would be proud!"
Second Row: (1) Cave Girl, (2) Captain America, (3) As Mr Joseph explained this one: "Loki, god of mischief, from Thor. Is anybody else horny?", (4) And, ahem: "Very sassy. Supergirl and Wonder Woman... from New Jersey, I think."
Third row: (1) "Robin, Superman, Batman... Batman has the pose!" (2) We thought we ought to plug the man who supplied all these photos for Speech Balloons, so here on the left hand side of the picture is Andrew himself, and to the right Steve Guzelis, promoting Evil Scientist Quarterly #1 from Strange Fun Comics!
