Super Con
COME SUMMER in the USA it turns into comic book convention season.
While the San Diego Comic-Con can lay claim to be the biggest convention of its kind on the American continent, there are several others of note.
I recently came across some photgraphs sent to me by Wildcard Ink publisher Mel Smith taken at a Supercon in Florida and thought I would share them with you.
The Supercon is similar to the Memorabilia shows that take place at Birmingham's NEC. There are guests and exhibits from the creative worlds of comics, animation, science fiction, fantasy along with those Japanese sub-divisions of anime, manga and cosplay.
Seated is Art Clokey, creator of the ever-popular Gumby clay-animation series with former Marvel Comics' head honcho, the one and only Stan Lee.
Playing away is artist Tony Salmons who has worked on movies like The Mummy and Batman animated series. An artist's artist, his rare excursions into the comic book world on books like Batman and The Vigilante are more than worth checking out.
Finally, a gathering of fans... Who look the same the world over!
