Flying the Red Dragon Proudly... Cymru Con 2009!

TWENTY YEARS is a long wait, but our Welsh cousins intend to fly their country's flag proudly next year with a comic book convention of their own.

The growing success of the Birmingham International Comics Convention (BICS), alongside the pre-existing Bristol Comics Expo has lead many cities across the United Kingdom to follow suit and now Cardiff plans to host Cymru Con on 8th August 2009.

The last Cymru Con was in back in 1989, but the city has not under-occupied on the convention front as a number of Dr Who and animation related events have taken place there during the interim.

Further details will follow, but guests already pencilled in for attendance include American-born artist Mike Ploog alongside Mike Collins, Barry Kitson, John McCrea, Kev F Sutherland, Dylan Teague with Speech Balloons' own Tony Lee and Paul H Birch also planning to be there.
