Ten Doctors - one comic

Speech Balloon collaborator Tony Lee has delivered the ultimate fanboy fantasy in his up and coming mini-series Doctor Who: The Forgotten by featuring all ten incarnations of the Time Lord.

The Kings Heath writer has teamed up with artist Pia Guerra, of Y The Last Man fame, for the six part mini-series for publisher IDW. Issue one is due in August.

A lifelong fan of the TV series he has thrown all ten Doctors into the mix giving readers a chance to see in comic panels what the TV series cannot do - bring the late William Hartnell, Patrick Troughtan and Jon Pertwee, as well as Doctors four to eight in their prime, face to face with David Tenant's tenth incarnation.

Each Doctor's key assistants, including Jamie, Jo and the Brigadier, Romana, Peri and Ace also appear.

It follows the tenth Doctor and Martha as, having forgotten about his past lives, he finds himself in a museum stuffed with items and artefacts from his previous adventures.

Tony describes the story as: "The Tenth Doctor and Martha in a strange museum being hassled by gun happy waxworks, giant spiders, robots and a mysterious and familiar bearded man."

The teaser images, particularly the Doctor looking at a department store window style display of his outfits, are more than enough to excite this fan.

But sadly for UK readers various licensing conflicts mean that IDW are unable to issue The Forgotten on this side of the Atlantic. So fans will have to use alternative channels to get their hands on a copy direct from the states, until those issues are resolved.

Meanwhile Tony is packing bags for his annual trip to the San Diego Comic Convention from July 23-27.

So, no ninth Doc?

Love the idea of all the Doctors coming face to face (I'm assuming Christopher Ecclestone's Doc will be included!). Could be a great story - although shame it can't be done on the TV show!

Although one change I'd make: I'd have Sarah Jane as the companion - her "reuniting" with the Tom Baker Doc would be awesome. And she can slap him for leaving her stranded in Aberdeen!

Hi Steve, the ninth does appear I believe - his outfit is on the far right of the line up. I did not mention him in that context as it would be quite possible to team him up with Tenant on screen - actor and schedules willing. The others have either died or aged since they appeared as the Doctor so are unlikely to reprise their roles on TV (leaving comic relief specials aside). That is all I am suggesting.

This week just gets better and better!

With all the excitement surrounding the secret season finale, this genius of a cartoon is a welcome piece of knot tying.

To see all the costumes hanging there together and the iconic pic of Hartnell (with the original Doctor OHO titles), standing over DT really gets the adrenalin pumping.

As one other writer commented, sadly we can never see this happen on screen as one, two and three are floating around the Matrix together.

But this has been a great way to bring them back together again, and should help out the little ones who thought Doctor Who only started a few years ago!

But is it canon? (Only joking...I'll get my scarf!)

It would be great to see all the Doctors join forces for one last mission, although would it include Paul McGann or is he the George Lazenby of the Doctor Who universe.

And does it include K9, no Dr Who reunion would be the same without his little metal dog.......
