A carrier bag of Scotch Bonnet chiliies for £1. A dozen passion fruit for £1. Two large bunches of seedless grapes for the same price. I'm pleased with these and other bargains I picked up today when I visited the Bull Ring outdoor market.
I've been buying my fruit and veg at the market rather than the supermarket for several months now and have to say that the quality - as well as the prices - has impressed me. Chatting to the stallholders helps - they point you towards good buys. There's good banter, too.
I fear Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury etc won't be supplying my fruit and veg again.
