I travelled to Boldmere last night and I was astonished at the number of curry houses that have sprung up there. I counted four in a very short stretch of the main road.Suttonians seem to have an insatiable desire for spicy food on this evidence.

Can they all survive? It seems an unsustainable number of restaurants all serving a similar style of food.
And I guess it's a pattern repeated in many other parts of the city.

And why is there never a similar profusion of other styles of restaurants in the suburbs - a glut of Italian, Cantonese or Thai eating houses within yards of each other, for instance?
