Fowl deeds

A couple of weeks ago I joined an ITV Central television crew at a farm called Turkey Talk in Balsall Common.

Obviously, they're gearing up for Cristmas when the demand for fresh turkey will be at its height.

But they were also keen to show off their smoke house, being used to produce smoked turkey breast.

I walked away with a vacuum-packed sample and got round to eating it this week. It's fabulous - moist, delicately smoky and very flavoursome.

I made a pot of cranberry sauce last night and it went brilliantly.

Turkey Talk will feature on a Christmas episode of Real Cooks on Central at 7.30pm on December 18, when my skills as a cook (and reputation as a foodie) are put to the test.
