New restaurant

By Paul Fulford on May 5, 2008 2:15 PM |

Driving my son to New Street Station this afternoon, I spotted near Holloway Circus a new Lebanese restaurant called Beiruit.

I didn't have time (or inclination in the heavy traffic) to stop to check out the menu, but the place looked more fast food than high-end.

Nothing wrong with that if what's served is good quality. I'll let you know after I've paid a visit.

I like the food from that part of the world so fingers crossed Beiruit delivers.

I hope your driving is better than your spelling, coz it's called Beirut (not Beiruit), and they've been open at least since March 2008 as there is a review on a leading Birmingham restaurant site since then.

Ooops about the spelling. That's what comes of posting after a couple of glasses of wine.
Ooops, too, about not spotting the restaurant before - that's because when I'm driving, I'm usually concentrating on the road ahead. Honest.

You are right about the fast food image it gives; I thought it was a dolled up fast food place. Lovely Shawarma though, and the menu is more interesting than the usual fare you get from fast food place in that area.

Thanks, Damian. I lov food from that part of the world. I'll give Beirut a try very soon.
