This Thursday's Food + Drink section of the Mail will include a look behind the scenes in the kitchens of Glynn Purnell's restaurant.

He's thrilled to have reached the final of the BBC2 series Great British Menu and was amused by a viewer's comment on the programme's website saying he looks like a cross between Russell Crowe and Kenny Everitt. It's not a similarity I'd noticed before, but now that it's been mentioned...

But I bet neither Russell nor Kenny could whip up the sort of sous-vide lamb, yoghurt foam and red pepper puree combo that Glynn demonstrated this afternoon. It was brilliant to see him at work.
