Mysteries of the East

Ever wondered about those strange vegetables and fruits you sometimes see in Oriental greengorcers? Me, too.

I popped along today to interview Sue Wong, owner of a couple of stalls at the Bull Ring Indoor Market. What a treasure trove of goodies - giant spiked durian fruit, beans that must be nearly a metre long, pea-sized green aubergines and much more.

It was fascinating to chat to Sue, who is passionate about her trade. Read the Food + Drink section in this Thursday's Mail for some hints of what to do with these mysterious ingredients. No rude suggestions, please!
