Harley Davidson CVO "Fat Bob" - Stratstone Harley Davidson

So last day with the Eponymous Fat Bob before I concentrate back on the Suzy GSX650F, and sad times all round as its blooming chucking it down!

Finish my show, and head off on a quick blast to Streetbike in Halesowen to...........well show off the Fat Bob really! It's always so cool to pop down and see Gary and the rest of the team at Streetbike, as they always make me feel so welcome and this time I did actually get fitted out for some new bike gear...........more on that in a few days, as it's a pretty cool thing I will be doing!!

While I was casually standing next to the Fat Bob coughing loudly so that everyone would notice that it's my bike......honestly I was striking a pose.......this thing is so cool it's pretty much brought on my mid life crisis early........Gary pointed out to me this very weird looking Honda that had the coolest pipes I have ever seen on it!

Even more excitement followed when he told me that the huge lump sticking out of the frame was a flat six engine ripped from a Goldwing and tuned up, and with a displacement of 1,800cc, I knew I just had to get him to start it up.

Gary said it would blow me away, but I must admit I was quite blasé, I mean I had my Fat Bob outside and I've heard some pretty sweet bikes in my time.............but oh my!

It sounded like nothing I had ever heard, it was more like a muscle car V8 than a bike, and I turned to Gary then, gave him my very best puppy dog eyes, and he said "Okay Okay, I'll let you have for it a day over the weekend!" Booya!!

Here is a pic of the beast, kind of looks like a Rocket 3, and to be fair I don't care if its the worst bike in the world to ever ride, 'cos when I heard that engine I knew I had to go out on it, oh I also knew that I would need a new pair of trousers.........I might have got a bit excited!

Anyway, having shown off on the Bob enough for one day, and after meeting the ever lovely Emma from Express Insurance to grab my ticker of them to Mallory for Sat, I headed home, the plan being to grab some food then head out again.........but guess what................more rain than you shake a blooming brolly at...............dagnabbit!

Wednesday 15th July

I rode into work for the last time on the Fat Bob (raining again!) and have to admit I have never been so sad to see a bike go before, mostly because I know that unless I win the lottery, I will probably never be able to afford one for my own!!

Here is the pic I have as my screensaver on my phone...........it's my fave of Bob...........I promised myself I wouldn't cry...hold it together Wilkins!

I didn't even get to say a proper goodbye (I had flowers, chocolates the lot.......and probably would have shed a tear) as the top guy from Harley arrived while I was on air and took it back to Harley.....sniff sniff!

So in review it has to be said that this CVO Fat Bob has simply blown me away, and of course it should do at the price, but wow...........what a bike........I was chatting to the guys at Streetbike yesterday about why I loved it so much, and it just has so much character and personality, as well as being so beautiful, and as I said, in an ideal world with money not an issue, it would defo be sitting in my perfect 3 bike garage! Bye Bye Bob, you'll be missed!

Oh well, the good news is I will get some more hogs to try out in August, and until then I get the feeling that Pure Triumph, Streetbike and Brindley Honda have a few beauties they want me to try out!!

Weather forecast pants for the next few days, so I'm glad I have the Suzy, as she is just so awesome and easy to ride, and to ride fast, that it's the perfect bike for such conditions.

In fact I might do a bit of late night riding on her tonight as the sun is out, so until tomorrow amigos, ride safe!
