Chilcot calling Hutton into question
Anyone watching the Chilcot Inquiry might have noticed that the evidence to this one is somewhat different that that given by the same people to the Hutton Inquiry which tends to indicate that the whitewash here might not be anywhere near as thick.
Even so the fact the much of the evidence contradicts what was said at the earlier inquiry does tend to add weight to the almost universal view that Hutton was a cover up on a monumental scale and the amazing and saddest thing is that we let what passes for Government in our morally bankrupt establishment get away it.
I have yet to meet anyone who believes Hutton's findings particularly as regards the death of Dr Kelly Kelly and for the Government to say the inquiry constituted an inquest just beggars belief.
No witness was on oath, medical evidence was sketchy, contradictory evidence was not challenged and the formal machinery of a coroner's court was all missing but we were told it was good enough.
Now we find all evidence and reports and statements not made public are locked away for 30 years and the post mortem for 70 years. In just how many inquests, which remember are a matter of public record, do you think that has happened before?
That has to be challenged. Hutton had no legal standing apart from being asked to do the job by the Government. His decision needs to be challenged and now we can see what a sham Hutton was perhaps the time has come for an inquest to find out how David Kelly really died.
