Enough said

Anyone notice that the outcome of the anti-war rant at the return of the Royal Anglian Regiment in Luton this week was just two arrests?

I am sure no one will be surprised to find that that the only people the police decided were worth arresting were both supporting our solders.

There are times when you wonder if the BNP actually pay the police for help in recruiting and marketing.

Luton, incidentally, is where the four London bombers met up and travelled into the capital in 2005.

I'd prefer to live in a country whereby people are allowed to protest, in order to demonstrate their personal views - whether I agree with them or not. And the people arrested were not arrested for supporting our soldiers, they were arrested for reacting to the protesters inappropriately. I also think that the police handled the situation very well, considering the potentially volatile nature of the subject matter. so there.

I am not against protest or freedom of speech just the one-eyed, politically correct, diversity obsessed culture of the police.

Even if these failings do exist in Police culture it has absolutely no bearing whatsoever upon this instance. The police have a duty to protect both sides of a protest . . . if the people who were arrested didn't behave like numptys then they would not have been arrested, would they? I'm not saying that the police are perfect (just look at the recent Victor Anichebe incident) but in this case Rog, you haven't got a leg to stand on :@)
