Anyone spot that the credit crunch is apparently having an effect on private schools where parents are moving kids into the state system to save cash as belts tighten?
Sadly it seems the state system is creaking a bit at the seams and can't take many more new pupils, at least not in the areas where the former private school pupils are applying, which does have a touch of irony considering that the Government would love to run private education, and of course Grammar schools, out of business.
Mind you this lot are so poor at joined-up Government and organisation and so obsessed with chucking taxpayers' cash at the private sector that if they did manage to close private schools down they would then end up sending all the pupils to some private equity and hedge fund owned prisons to wind farms outfit which would develop a private education arm over a lunch hour all funded by huge fees for guaranteed numbers of pupils for the next 30 years or so.
