No doubt we will be told that the current ark building weather is the result of global warming and somewhere in Whitehall a committee of jobsworths are gnawing the ends off their pencils working out how they can work inclement weather - a good title for any act - into yet another excuse to impose a tax, charge, levy or anything else they can think of to extract more cash from our pay packets in the name of saving the Treasury . . . sorry, planet.

And while it not only rains but pours we have the same old floods in the same old places and just to prove the commercial interests and profit are sacrosanct in modern, forward looking Cool Britannia - the Government are still allowing and even proposing building on flood plains.
