- You never actively encouraged anyone to burp or fart and certainly never cheered when they did
- You don't take it seriously when people tell you 'you'll never be able to have a full night sleep again'
- You never knew poo could travel that far
- You assume your baby will be the best behaved baby ever...
- You think that all babies do is sleep, so you'll have loads of time to cook, clean, have time to yourself...
- You dont know the feeling of true love.

It has been another joyous weekend for the Deadman family, with both England and Wales winning the rugby.

And so I apologise for the shameless nature of this post. It's purely to show off the munchkin in his two favourite outfits!

I had every intention of using the carrier for long walks in the country and strolls along beaches.

But sadly, so far, apart from the odd walk around the block, it has been used mainly for hoovering, sorting laundry and tidying up.

For it seems Milo is going through a 'clingy' stage, and threatens to scream the house down when I let go of him. And so when that happens, I plonk him in the carrier and can go about my daily business two-handed and in peace.

Anyone with a newborn knows that settling them down to sleep can be somewhat of a trauma.

Fortunately, Milo has been pretty good, and nods off himself in the moses basket.

In the middle of the night, however, when the house is deadly silent and I can hear him starting to break in to a scream, Ewan The Dream Sheep has become my lifesaver.

Despite all the things I was given advice on or warned about having a baby, no-one mentioned that newborns can be such noisy sleepers!

Milo makes all kinds of snorts, grunts, strains, whimpers and squeals - in fact, he sounds like a cross between a goat and a goose.

When pregnant and reading baby books, many stated newborns sleep for up to 20 hours a day.

This is, in fact, a lie.

They are awake demanding your constant attention for 20 hours a day.

But for the other four hours, they love a good snooze, and being snug as a bug in a sleeping bag ensures a lovely rest.
