Sleep like a baby

I'm not sure where the phrase "sleep like a baby" comes from, but it clearly wasn't from a parent - at least not a parent of a newborn.

In fact, I'd like to smack the idiot who did coin this phrase right in the mouth.

Now here's a phrase that makes total sense...cry like a baby. Yep, total sense.
