December 2011 Archives
I'm now 11 days late. ELEVEN days.
That is all.
Nope, not labour, silly, that would be far too much to ask for...
I mean lasting past Christmas Day without giving birth.
Obviously, I'd have been happy whenever Sprout decided to make an appearance, but am secretly quite grateful it wasn't yesterday.
It serves me right.
Back in the autumn, when I was convinced Sprout would make an early appearance in to the world, I bought two gorgeous Christmas outfits - a cute stripey elf-like romper and a fab furry reindeer snowsuit, complete with antlers.
I'm a big lover of fancy dress - as you'll find out once Sprout is born...
Yet, at almost a week overdue, and with Christmas Day tomorrow, it seems they were a complete waste of money!
Sprout is obviously way too comfortable to come out just yet - so at least Mr D and myself can enjoy a peaceful Christmas dinner.
Our last for many, many years....
Well, 231 days after discovering I was pregnant, D-Day is finally here.
Whether Sprout actually makes an appearance today is another matter entirely....
Well, it's been an eventful couple of hours.
Normally, Sprout moves pretty much all day, every day, but gets especially active from late afternoons onwards.
The best way to describe the movements is like a mole trying to burrow its way out of my belly. Truly freaky.
According to a new report, sweet-toothed pregnant women could be putting their unborn babies at risk of being sugar-addicts when they're born.
Health experts from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have issued a warning to mums-to-be to cut down on sugary foods.
Oops. I guess I should put down this pain au chocolat and reach for the toaster then.
I am officially in the final stretch of this pregnancy! What a huge milestone.
For so long, my due date has always seemed so far and distant, and now it is right around the corner. Only seven days left until Sprout is due and he or she becomes a part of our lives.
No, it's not D-Day already - I'm talking about the big DIY push to get all those niggly jobs finished before Sprout arrives.
I think it must be related to that elusive 'nesting' thing Mr D has been hoping for.
