The final countdown

With only one week left at work before I go on maternity leave, the reality is finally sinking in.

I've been at the Mail for 11 years and can't imagine not being there for a few months.

Yes, most days it makes me want to tear my hair out, and lately I'm so huge that sitting for eight hours is pretty uncomfortable, but that doesn't mean I won't miss it. Hugely.

I also know that as soon as Sprout arrives I'll be so besotted that I'll be thinking 'what's work?' and I can't deny I'm looking forward to daytime TV and becoming a 'lady who lunches' for a bit either.

But I know the tears will certainly flow next Friday, and that's nothing to do with my hormones.
