Raising a glass

Eisberg Riesling

Around £3.35

Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons, Co-op

I'm not much of a drinker, but these past few months the one thing I have missed is wine. Birthday parties, meals out and special dinners at home haven't been the same without a chilled glass of something - and lately that's been fruit juice, lemonade or, shock horror, water.

Until now, that is. The Eisberg range of non-alcoholic wines is the closest I've come to drinking the real thing by a long way.

They have the real taste of your favourite wine, but without the alcohol. I tried the Riesling, which is described as a 'fresh aromatic non-alcoholic white wine with honeyed aromas of rosy apples and juicy melons.'

While I have to admit there is something missing, it tastes far more 'winey' and less 'grape juicey' than any of the other wine substitutes I've tried.

And for me, for now, it hits the spot.

It also has just a third of the calories of normal wine - bonus!
