Back Now!

By Laura Yates on Apr 4, 09 10:21 PM

Have been spending the last week counting down the days till yesterday, when my boys and I officially broke up for easter - which incidentally was also the day that many SAHMs started counting down the days till the kids go back to school in a fortnight's time.

I spent all of two minutes wondering what I'd be doing over the next two weeks - before I knew it nearly all of the time has been filled up with lots of fun things, and the not so fun things that have needed to be done for ages: banking, gardening, clearing, cleaning and getting the car fixed. Joyous.

There are LOADS of things going on in Brum and Sollers. Def going to be going to as many things as I can fit in - hoping to go to a show called 'I'm Still Hungry' at Solihull Arts Complex, which has also got lots of other things going on.

And, in all honesty sometimes it's more than enough to just hang around the house or the garden. You'd be amazed at how long a simple bucket of water with few plastic cups and bowls can occupy a toddler for. You'd also be amazed at how long a simple toddler and bucket of water can occupy a nine year old for - I had to carry The Kid at arm's length, water literally dripping out of his horrendously over-priced shoes through the kitchen to strip him off, rub him down and put on clean clothes.

I thought to myself as I changed him how I wish I'd used terry nappies for longer; his bum and tummy were covered with those little beads of gel chemical stuff that leaks out of nappies when they get too full.

Hoping to blog again tomorrow with news of Not-Pregnant Sarah and baby Monica. I've not seen them since I first visited them in hospital. Looking forward to reporting on how the family, especially their twenty two month old son is adjusting to the new arrival!
